ID 2EGIU. Persia. Achaemenid Empire. Darius I, ca. 505-480 BC. AV Daric 8.35 g. Lustrous, fully centred and well detailed example. Extremely rare, NGC graded MS ★.
ID FNUCG. Peloponnese. Elis. Olympia. Stater ca. late 450s BC, AR 12.35 g. Lovely old cabinet tone. Extremely fine.
ID I9FYG. Roman Empire. Septimius Severus, 193-211. Aureus 200-201, AV 6.93 g. An exquisite portrait in the finest style of the period. Minor edge marks, otherwise extremely fine.
ID JMWAW. Roman Republic. M. Piso Mf. Frugi. Denarius 61, AR 4.08 g. Very rare. Old cabinet tone and about extremely fine.
ID ERPAB. France. Merovingians. Hildebodus moneyer. Triens, 600-670, Dun-le-Poëlier. Gold 1.29 g.; 13.5 mm. Extremely fine EF 40-45.
ID BUAT4. Roman Imperatorial. Octavian as Augustus, 27 BC – AD 14. Denarius, Samos (?) circa 21-20 BC, AR 3.75 g. Rare. Lovely old cabinet tone, banker’s mark on obverse and minor marks, flan crack at eight o’clock on obverse, otherwise Extremely fine.
ID 2BSEO. Kingdom of France. Jean II le Bon, 1350-1364. Mouton d’or. Gold 4.65 g.; 29 mm. Almost uncirculated AU 50-53.
ID AJDGP. Roman Empire. Caracalla Augustus, 198 – 217. Sestertius circa 214-217, Æ 24.53 g. A strong portrait of excellent style and a lovely untouched brown tone. Hairline flan crack at five o’clock and a small die shift on reverse, otherwise extremely fine.
ID XQQEI. Great Britain. George III, 1760-1820. Coronation Gold Medal, 1761. London mint; by L. Natter. Mintage: 858. Diameter: 34mm; Weight: 22.88 g. TOP POP, tied as the finest grade, impeccably provenanced and of historical interest. With lovely prooflike surfaces. PCGS graded MS 62.
