Leu Numismatik AG in Winterthur (Switzerland) is a young and innovative numismatic auction house specialized in the trade in ancient, medieval, and modern coins. Over the past years, Leu has grown steadily and is now looking for a master’s student or an individual already graduated with a keen interest in history to support Leu as a Junior Numismatist at their office in Winterthur, either immediately or at a later date as per agreement. You can still be enrolled as a master’s student or have already completed your degree.
Leu aims for a long-term employment relationship with a workload of 60%-100%. Under the guidance of an international team of historians and numismatists, you will learn to work with historical coins and numismatic auctions step by step. Previous experience in the field of numismatics is a plus, but not a prerequisite.
The responsibilities include:
- Inventorying of coins
- Input of technical data (diameter, weight, etc.)
- Photography
- Bibliography and inventorying of numismatic literature
- Administration
- Coin description
Leu is looking for someone who has:
- Completed or is working on a master’s degree
- English as a second language or very good to excellent proficiency
- Enthusiasm for culture and history
- The ability to work in a team and strong communication skills
