Alexandria in Nummis – International Symposium in Lugano 2024

The Circolo Numismatico Ticinese (CNT) presents the program to the international symposium “Alexandria in Nummis” dedicated to the Roman Imperial Coinage of Alexandria (30 BC – AD 298).

The symposium will see the participation of the leading experts in this field and will also serve as the occasion to celebrate the centennial anniversary of the landmark text for the study of Alexandrian coins: Die alexandrinischen Münzen. Grundlegung einer alexandrinischen Kaisergeschichte, published in Stuttgart in 1924, by Joseph Vogt (1895-1986), one of Germany’s foremost classical scholars.

The symposium will take place in Lugano, Switzerland on 20th & 21st of September 2024. The session will be hold in Ex-Asilo Ciani, viale Carlo Cattaneo, 6900 Lugano.
