The elections took place as part of the association’s annual general meeting, which was attended by numerous members from various sectors of the coin industry. In addition to the Executive Board’s activity report for the 2023/2024 association year, the presentation and approval of the 2024 budget, the agenda also included the election of the new Executive Board, assessors and auditors.

Michael Becker was re-elected 1st Chairman of the Berufsverband des Deutschen Münzenfachhandels e.V. by the members present and entitled to vote. Ulrich Künker was also unanimously elected to the office of 2nd Chairman of the association, while Reinhard Grünert and Werner März were appointed as auditors. A total of five candidates were put forward for the election of assessors, and Goetz-Ulf Jungmichel, Managing Director of World Money Fair Berlin GmbH, the world’s largest coin fair, was also nominated for a seat on the association. All of the proposed candidates were unanimously elected by the meeting in a block vote as assessors on the board of the professional association. “I am delighted with the election result and look forward to supporting the professional association in a changing market situation and further promoting interest in coins as a collector’s and investment object,” says Goetz-Ulf Jungmichel.

Founded in 1970 as the “Association of Coin Dealers in the APHV”, the association has been operating under the name “Berufsverband des Deutschen Münzenfachhandels e.V.” since 1980 and represents the interests of its members vis-à-vis politics, business, mints and other producers. With over 220 active member companies, it is the largest European coin dealers’ association. Based in Cologne, it is actively involved, partly as an ideal sponsor, in major stock exchange and trade fair events and regularly takes part in major events in Berlin and Munich with advisory and information stands.

Luisa Krüger 2nd Chairwoman of the GFN

The Gesellschaft zur Förderung der Numismatik e. V. (GFN), of which the Berufsverband is one of the active founding members, has also seen a change in the board. Luisa Krüger, Head of IT-Strategy & IT-Infrastructure at World Money Fair Berlin GmbH, was appointed 2nd Chairwoman of the Board. She succeeds Barbara Balz, who did not stand for re-election.
