Sneh, Harry Naftali (1953-2013)

by Hadrien Rambach

Vespasian. “Judaea Capta” commemorative, AD 71, Rome mint. Ex Harry N. Sneh Collection. From CNG Auction 118 (2021), 1011.

Harry Sneh, born in Israel, had arrived in America as a youth with his parents. With a Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, he worked for the California Environmental Protection Agency.

After forming a general coin collection as a child, Sneh specialised in currency for twenty years, and sold this major collection when he chose to collect ancient coins instead, specializing first in Judean coins and then in the Flavian imperial series. His collection was sold by Harlan J. Berk with Herb Kreindler (auctions Gemini IX-X) in 2012 and 2013.
