Solomon Islands New Banknote released in celebration of the XVII Pacific Games
The Central Bank of the Solomon Islands released new $10 commemorative banknotes to commemorate the XVII Pacific Games that the island country will hosting for the first time this year. The new banknote is expected to be widely circulated for use throughout the Solomon Islands.
Baldrs Horse: Detectorist Makes “Find of the Century” in Norway
On the Norwegian island of Rennesøy, a metal detectorist recently made an extraordinary gold find that was buried long before the Viking Age. The nine coin-like gold pendants engraved with rare horse symbols discovered along with ten gold beads and three gold rings are the first find of this kind in Norway since the 19th century.

Ulrich Werz (1964-2023)
The numismatist Ulrich Werz died on June 14, 2023. He was known for his work on coin finds and his studies on Roman countermarks. Claire Franklin remembers him.
