Metcalf Lecturer 2023/4: Benjamin Hellings

The Archaeological Institute of America named Benjamin Hellings this year’s Metcalf Lecturer. He is Curator of Numismatics at the Yale University Art Gallery and Chair of the AIA Numismatics Interest Group.

In 2023, Stockholm Numismatica will take place on 1 October. The previous day at the same premises a series of exclusive coins from the Gunnar Ekström collection will be sold in a public auction.

The Bruun Collection has been held by Denmark’s National Museum in Copenhagen for 100 years. Now Stack’s Bowers Galleries has been commissioned with the sale of the collection, which Stacks refers to as “the most valuable collection of World Coins to ever come to market”.
