Our Event Sites for the Coin Fairs in Basel and Munich

Women on Commemorative Coins: A Long Road to True Equality
Every year, International Women’s Day is celebrated on 8 March—and this week, numismatists also have a reason to celebrate. On 6 March, a German 20-euro coin was issued to mark the 50th anniversary of the International Women’s Year. This coin marks the beginning of a new German commemorative coin series under the theme "Influential Women". But does this mean that women have finally secured their place in the world of numismatics?

Joachimsthal and the Reformation
On 29 January 2025, Künker will auction a series of valuable Renaissance medals. They feature biblical topics and were minted in the region of Joachimsthal to spread the teachings of the Reformation. Johannes Mathesius, the author of Luther’s Table Talk, may have been at the origin of some of the motifs.

















Register Now for the 30th Annual ICOMON Conference
The Economy Museum in Stockholm will host this year’s conference of the International Committee for Money and Banking Museums (ICOMON) on 25-28 September 2024. The registration is now open and the preliminary program is available online.
Archaeological State Collection in Munich Reopened
After eight years of renovation, the Bavarian State Archaeological Collection shines in new splendor. Since April 17, 2024, the doors are once again open to visitors from all over the world. The new exhibition rooms were planned and designed by Atelier Brückner.
