Recently a new numismatic project went online: the CoinFindsViewer represents the first large-scale visualization of Roman coin find data in southern Germany. It enables users to interactively explore the dataset along the Roman frontier, the Limes, and its hinterland across various historical periods.

IAPN Asks Collectors to Help Protect Roman Coin Collecting

Such concerns are raised by the proposed extension of a Memorandum of Understanding between the US and Italy. The IAPN is calling on collectors to take action.

The Protagonists of the Thirty Years’ War: A Slightly Different Preview of Künker’s Auction 410

On 23 September 2024 Künker will auction off a breathtaking collection including many multiple gold coins, multiple talers and rare medals relating to the Thirty Years’ War. We present the most beautiful pieces, and explain why the men depicted on these issues took part in the Thirty Years’ War.
On 29 October 1888, the Russian imperial train derailed near the village of Borki. 23 people lost their lives. The tsar’s family survived. A medal commemorates the event. It will be offered by the Künker auction house on 1 February 2024.
