2-5 December 2024
Online
From Monday, December 2 to Thursday, December 5, 2024, the Künker eLive Auction 85 will take place from 2:00 PM each day. The auction house will be presenting around 3,000 lots with coins from the ancient world as well as coins and medals from Europe and overseas.
On Monday, December 2, the auction will start at 2:00 pm with coins from the Ancient World as well as European coins and medals, starting with Albania and ending with Portugal.
The section with coins from the ancient world again covers the entire spectrum of ancient numismatics, from Celtic, Greek and Roman coins to coins from the Migration Period and Byzantine and Oriental coinage. Of particular note is a small but interesting lot of Celtic coins; among the Roman coins, a small series of rare coins of Postumus stands out. Numerous coins with ships and parts of ships are of interest to collectors. Numerous collector-friendly lots are also represented.
On the second day of the auction, Tuesday, December 3, more European coins and medals will come under the virtual hammer, this time from Romania to Cyprus, followed by coins and medals from overseas. This will be followed by coins from the Habsburg hereditary lands of Austria.
On Wednesday, December 4, you can look forward to German coins and medals from Aachen to Saxony (up to John George I and August, 1611-1615) and on Thursday, December 5, to the second part of Saxony (from John George I, 1615-1656) and other areas up to Würzburg.
In addition, medals and German coins from 1871 onwards as well as lots will be auctioned on the last day.
The O’Connor Collection also includes medieval coins with many rarities as well as a large series of Habsburg coins with many ducats and a large collection of Saxon coins with a focus on Saxe-Coburg-Eisenach.
A particular highlight is the collection “Naves in Nummis – Ships on Coins”, which includes coins with ships on it from all areas.
