The sale includes a selection of coins from the collection of a Mentor. This first section of the sale starts with an interesting selection of silver and bronzes of Etruria, Magna Grecia and Sicily, such as a beautiful 20 asses of Populonia, a rare triens of Vetulonia, a rare quadrans of Iguvium, an interesting nomos of Laos and a nice bronze of Petelia. Moreover in this part, there are a well preserved tetradrachm of Lysimachus, a rare stater of Kherei, a well preserved tetradrachm of Tigranes, an interesting dishekel of Sidon, a rare tetradrachm of Ptolemy IV and even beyond a selection of Hellenistic coins and a series of coins of Tarentum, Metapontum, Caulonia, Croton, Syracuse, Athens, Corinth, Seleucid kings, Phoenicia and Egypt. Noteworthy in this section is a nice octodrachm of Arsinoe.

The Roman selection boasts an interesting series of Roman Republican bronzes and a striking array of denarii. This includes a well preserved quadrigatus, a very rare triens of star (second) series, an extremely rare quadrans of AN or AV series, a very rare triens of small bird and TOD series, an extremely sextans of PT or TP series, an extremely rare Uncia of S. Afrianus, a very rare quadrans of Mast and sail series, a very rare denarius of A. Manlius Q. f. Sergianus, a well preserved denarius of L. Marcius Philippus (ex Ratto sale 4, 1970, 203) and a very rare denarius of Marcus Antonius (Ex Kunst und Munzen fixed price list 1970).

From the Scipio collection and Roma Numismatics sale XXII, 2022, 828), a nice sestertius of Trajan (Ex Glendining’s sale 20 July 1960, 93 (part of). From the collection of a Mentor), a rare denarius of Pertinax, a rare aureus of Septimius Severus, a nice sestertius of Julia Mamaea (Ex Sternberg sale XXI, 1988, 473), a rare antoninianus of Laelianus, an extremely rare solidus in name of Zeno, and a selection of follis from the Rauceby Hoard, found in Lincolnshire, July 2017 (submitted for consideration as Treasure and returned to the finders. PAS ID: LIN-F6D516. BM Ref: 2017 T649), even beyond an interesting selection of Solidi, Denari, Antoniniani, Sesterti, Dupondi, Asses and Folles. Very remarkable in this part are an aureus of Claudius and an extremely rare medallion of Constantine I.
