Solidus presents Auction 142 with 935 attractive lots. The auction will take place on Tuesday, 22 April 2025, from 15:00 as a live auction on the Auex platform. Bids can already be placed.

Many attractive Greek silver coins with beautiful tetradrachms are offered, including numerous attractive pieces with the portrait of Alexander the Great as well as the portraits of Ptolemaic and Seleucid rulers, including a Seleucos I Nicator with panther skin helmet, and rare coins of Persian satraps. The extensive selection of Roman provincial coins again includes some rarities, as well as an extensive group of coins from Caesarea in Cappadocia and an impressive series of tetradrachms from the 3rd century. The section with coins from the Roman imperial period contains many exceptionally well-preserved denarii and antoniniani. Gold and silver coins from the late Roman period and Byzantium complete the section with ancient coins. This is followed by coins from the Middle Ages, World coins and Islamic coins. An outstanding highlight is a double Armenian coin from Gosdantin I.

The auction ends with attractive coin groups that are very favourably estimated. Here are some highlights of the auction:
