Künker eLive Auction 83

Künker presents from Monday, 22 July to Friday, 26 July 2024, their eLive Auction 83 taking place from 2 pm each day. The auction house will be presenting around 3,800 lots with coins of the Ancient World as well as coins and medals from the Medieval and Modern Times.

Lot 35: Thracia. Byzantium. Stater (Lysimacheier), c. 110/100 BC (?). Rare. Almost extremely fine. Estimate: 750 EUR.

On Monday, Künker presents the wide spectrum of ancient numismatics, from coins of the Celts, Greeks, Romans and Byzantines to coins of the Crusaders and Middle East. Particularly noteworthy this time are the interesting series of Greek coins, numerous collector-friendly lots of especially Roman coins, but also the beautiful lot of Byzantine gold coins. This will be followed by European coins from Albania to Hungary. 

Lot 792: Brazil. Pedro I (1822-1831). 160 Reis 1824, R, Rio de Janeiro. Very rare. Very fine +. Estimate: 1,000 EUR.

On the second day of the auction, coins and medals from overseas will go under the virtual hammer, followed by a nice series of Habsburg coins.

Lot 1946: Archbishopric of Cologne. Clemens August von Bayern (1723-1761). Silver Medal 1750, by F. A. Schega, commemorating his 50th birthday and his election as Grand Master of the Teutonic Order in 1732. Very rare. Almost extremely fine. Estimate: 1,000 EUR.

With over 2,600 lots, the focus of our eLive Auction 83 is obviously on coins from Germany and the German Empire. On Wednesday and Thursday you can look forward to enlarge collection with many rarities from Saxony as well as a nice series of coins from Brunswick, including many thalers.

Lot 3443: German Empire. Sachsen-Meiningen. Georg II (1866-1914). 20 Mark 1872. J. 275. Very rare. Almost extremely fine. Estimate: 15,000 EUR.

As always, the numismatic program concludes with coins from the German Empire, where we recommend a large collection of gold and silver coins with some rarities, including the 20 Mark Saxony-Meiningen 1872 (J.275).
