The year 2025 begins at Numismatisches Antiquariat Lang with Auction 5 on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. 989 lots of numismatic literature will be offered. Almost 100 lots of bibliophile works will be auctioned. Among them are some examples of particular quality and rarity, for example lot 52. The work by Lotichius and Hennin is bound in a magnificent full leather binding with rich gold spine decoration and is also rarely offered.
After the general numismatics lots, books on ancient numismatics will be offered. These range from sought-after standard works to specialized literature. Among others, the original work “Die Münzen von Syrakus” by Boehringer (lot 146) is included.
There is also a wide range available in the medieval and modern period segment. Some magnificent original editions stand out, such as Mazard (Histoire monetaire et numismatique contemporaine 1790–1963. Lot 491) or Dannenberg (Die deutschen Münzen der sächsischen und fränkischen Kaiserzeit. Berlin 1876–1905. 4 vols. Lot 382). The spectrum ranges from standard works to rare small publications.
Among the journals are several longer series of the “Blätter für Münzfreunde” or “Berliner Münzblätter”. The highlight is an almost complete series of the “Revue Belge de Numismatique” (lot 648).
The largest section of this auction, the auction catalogues, forms the conclusion. Many well-known auction houses before and after 1945 are represented here. Among them are some numbers that have been bound in older bindings. Well-known collections are just as strongly represented as larger series from auction houses after 1945.
The Literature Auction 5 will take place on Wednesday, 8th of January 2025 at 4:00 pm CET as a live auction on the Auex platform. You can place your maximum bids before the auction – or during the live auction, where you can bid on the lots in real time, similar to a room auction, and actively influence the auction process. Pre-bids are already running.
