Stack’s Bowers Galleries is proud to announce that their May 2025 Showcase Auction, a 375-lot sale focused on United States federal coinage, is now open for pre-sale bidding online. The sale will be hosted in and broadcast from the firm’s state of the art Griffin Studios in Costa Mesa, California on Tuesday, May 6. Anchoring the event is a rare Mint State 1851 Augustus Humbert $50 “slug” produced by the United States Assay Office of Gold. Among the very finest graded by NGC at MS-62, it is an important numismatic relic of the California Gold Rush.
