New Security Standards for the World Money Fair
The World Money Fair is the leading international trade fair for numismatics and attracts up to 13,000 visitors to the Estrel Congress Center (ECC) in Berlin every year. To ensure the safety of both visitors and exhibitors, the trade fair team led by Managing Director Goetz-Ulf Jungmichel has introduced a new entry system.

Personalised tickets and electronic access control
The personalisation of tickets is now standard at many events. Visitors must enter their personal data when purchasing tickets. First name, surname and company (only for trade visitors) are recorded. Tickets can be purchased online on the World Money Fair website from €17.00
The purchase process consists of several stages:
- Purchase and order of the ticket(s)
- Personalisation of the purchased order – it is also possible to buy tickets for several people
- Download the tickets as a Print@Home ticket or in the smartphone wallet
Tickets can be purchased online until the last day of the trade fair Tickets can also be purchased on site at the box office in the Estrel lobby, albeit at higher prices. Tickets on site start at €22.
The ticket purchase on site works as follows:
- Purchase:
- One or more tickets are purchased at the ticket office and the buyer receives a receipt with a QR code
- Personalisation:
- The QR code is scanned with their own smartphone or with tablets provided at the personalisation station and the first name, surname and company details (only for trade visitors) are entered.
- The ticket can now be used as a wallet ticket on your own smartphone or printed out as a badge at one of the printers.
‘Tickets purchased online significantly reduce waiting times,’ says Goetz-Ulf-Jungmichel, Managing Director of the World Money Fair. ‘The electronic controls also prevent people from entering without a valid ticket.’
Controlled access areas and trained security staff
Another key element of the new admission system is that visitors will only be able to access the exhibition areas via defined access points. Tickets are scanned both on entry and each time they leave the exhibition area, so that the organisers can control the flow of visitors and know the number of people in the area at any given time.
The World Money Fair 2025 will take place from Thursday, 30 January to Saturday, 1 February 2025 at the Estrel Congress Center in Berlin.
