Petition Crown Realizes More than $1 Million, Setting Record
For the second time this year, an example of England’s Petition Crown certified by NGC has realized a record price. The piece from the Geoffrey Cope Collection broke the $1 million barrier.
Further Thefts at Royal Coin Cabinet Brought to Trial
The systematic thefts at the Royal Coin Cabinet in Stockholm were not committed by one single person. Another employee helped himself to some objects. At present, prosecutors are trying to prove the man stole coins worth more than 3.8 million Swedish kronor, including a Russian family ruble which sold for 510,000 SEK in 2009.

Spectacular Coin Hoard Discovered in the Province of Utrecht
A hoard of 404 coins has been unearthed in the province of Utrecht. It is probably the first find on the European mainland to include both Roman and British Celtic coins. The coin find underlines the importance of the Lower Germanic Limes for the Roman invasions of Britain.
