The Eggenberg Family and the Power of Money
In a new exhibition of the Coin Cabinet at Eggenberg Palace (Graz, Austria) the rise, splendour and decline of the Eggenberg dynasty are presented using their coins. In addition, examples of the diversity of coinage in the Holy Roman Empire in the 17th century are presented.
Sir Winston Churchill at 150: Highlights From the J. Eric Engstrom Medal Collection
Last November, Winston Churchill would have turned 150 years old. To mark the occasion, the Heberden Coin Room at the Ashmolean is displaying pieces from their rich collection of medals related to Churchill, most of which come from the J. Eric Engstrom Collection of Churchill Medals.

Joachimsthal and the Reformation
On 29 January 2025, Künker will auction a series of valuable Renaissance medals. They feature biblical topics and were minted in the region of Joachimsthal to spread the teachings of the Reformation. Johannes Mathesius, the author of Luther’s Table Talk, may have been at the origin of some of the motifs.

ANS awards Collier Prize to Moneda Ibérica
For the second time, the American Numismatic Society awarded the Collier Prize to an outstanding book, catalog, or digital work in the field of ancient numismatics. This year, the honor went to Moneda Ibérica, a digital catalog for ancient coins of the Iberian Peninsula.
