Solidus presents Auction 144 with 844 attractive lots. The auction will take place on Tuesday, 24 June 2025, from 15:00 as a live auction on the Auex platform. Bids can already be placed.
Many attractive Greek silver coins with beautiful tetradrachms are offered, including numerous attractive pieces, e.g. with the portrait of Alexander the Great, of Lysimachos as well as the portraits of Seleucid rulers, including two pieces of Seleucos I. Nicator with panther skin helmet. The extensive selection of Roman provincial coins includes some rarities, a group of coins from Caesarea in Cappadocia and an impressive series of exquisite tetradrachms from the 3rd century. The section with Roman republican and imperial coins is followed by coins from Byzance, the Middle Ages, World coins and Islamic coins.
The auction ends with attractive coin groups that are very favourably estimated. Here are some highlights of the auction:

Lot 1213: Seleucid kingdom. Alexander I. Balas. Tetradrachma, Tyros. 146 / 145 B.C. Minimal wear. About mint state. Estimate 600 EUR.
Lot 1386. Dekapolis, Gadara. Caracalla. Tetradrachma. 215 – 217 A.D. Extremely rare. Extremely fine / about extremely fine. Estimate 1000 EUR.
