The spring auction of Dr. Busso Peus Nachf. was once again to the great satisfaction of the consignors. Part 2 of the Lückger Collection, featuring coins from the Rhineland and Westphalia, attracted tremendous interest, and demand for ancient coins continues unabated.

Numisart’s Auction 9 was dedicated to ancient coins and a great success. Stylistically outstanding pieces in excellent condition were in high demand. Strong interest was shown especially for attractive and exceptional portraits – a notable number of such were offered in
the auction.

Künker ⸱ Auction 420-422 ⸱ 18-21 March 2025 ⸱ Osnabrück
A total of 11 million euros were realized in Künker’s Spring Auctions. The total result of the four auctions was thus 80% higher than the estimate. This review will focus on the three auctions with coins from medieval and modern times. We present the top five lots of these auctions as well as other exciting results from special collections.

Stack’s Bowers Galleries has auctioned Part II of the famed L. E. Bruun Collection with 550 lots for almost 10 million euros. The cumulative prices realized for the L. E. Bruun Collection are now at almost 25 million euros.

On 17 March 2025, Künker held its successful Spring Auction Sale 419. The 638 selected lots with ancient coins had a total estimate of 2 million euros. This sum almost doubled as the auction realized a total hammer price of roughly 4 million euros. We present the top five pieces of Künker’s auction 419 as well as other exciting results.

Almost 1200 lots from antiquity to medieval and modern times were successfully sold at Gorny & Mosch’s spring auction. Greek coins and coins from the Roman Empire were particularly popular, achieving exceptionally high hammer prices.
