RPC Volumes V.2 and V.3 Now Available Online

The Roman Provincial Coinage project now published RPC volume V.2 and V.3 online. They cover all Roman provincial coinage issues from Pertinax to the death of Macrinus (AD 193-218) in all the Eastern provinces of the Roman Empire. This includes 11,000 type descriptions and over 45,000 coins from 317 cities!

IAPN Asks Collectors to Help Protect Roman Coin Collecting

Will Roman coins in general be considered the cultural property of Italy by US Customs unless you can provide extensive proof of ownership? Such concerns are raised by the proposed extension of a Memorandum of Understanding between the US and Italy. The IAPN is calling on collectors to take action.

Einer der Höhepunkte von Künker Auktion 395 ist eine spektakuläre Goldmedaille zu 110 Dukaten, die aus dem persönlichen Besitz von Fürst Ferdinand I. von Bulgarien stammt. Diese Medaille führt uns mitten hinein in eine Zeit, in der Bulgarien seine Wirtschaft modernisierte. Der Fürst packte dabei tatkräftig mit an. Und die Eisenbahn spielte dabei eine zentrale Rolle.

One of the highlights of Künker’s auction 395 is a spectacular gold medal with a weight of 110 ductats. It was the personal property of Prince Ferdinand I. of Bulgaria. This medal takes us back into a period when Bulgaria modernized its economy. And the railroad system played a major role in this.
